Dear Lebanon families,
The last student day for remote learning is Friday, May 29th. The remaining school calendar days will be teacher in-service days until June 17. Included below is important information:
At this point, our district plan is to have Kindergarten screening for incoming K students in the fall. More details will be shared as soon as they are finalized.
The PTO Art Fundraiser will continue online until June 30th.
Sadly, we were unable to have our annual Celebration of Learning this month. We usually give books to our students for summer reading at the celebration. Since we weren’t able to do that, we ordered Scholastic book packs for each student! We have scheduled them to be sent to homes starting in June. If you do not receive your books by the end of the June, please call school (207-457-1299) and leave a message.
Fifth grade - we would like to honor our fifth graders who will be leaving the Lebanon schools to attend Noble Middle School in the fall. On Wednesday, June 10th, we are having a Pick up / Drop off at the Hanson School only from 4:00pm - 6:00pm similar to what we did in March. We are asking fifth grade families to drive to the Hanson School to drop off library books and reading books that were taken home in March. As they drive into the back school parking lot, books will be collected and fifth graders will receive their green graduation hat and other materials / belongings from school. Families are asked to stay in their vehicles. As they drive around the school, staff will be cheering goodbye and as they exit the circle, they will be given certificates and a special memento of their years in Lebanon. If fifth graders have younger siblings in school, they may return their books
and pick up materials / belongings during that time also.
Kindergarten through 4th grade - On Thursday, June 11th from 2:00 - 6:00, we are having a Pick up / Drop off at the Hanson School only from 2:00pm - 6:00pm similar to what we did in March. K - 2nd grade families will drive into the bus circle and stop by the front door. 3rd and 4th grade families will drive in the back entrance and stop by the gym door at Hanson. Families are asked to stay in their vehicles. Staff members will collect books using boxes and give students bags with materials /belongings.
In lieu of a traditional report card for the third trimester, you will receive a letter from your child’s current teacher promoting him/her to the next grade. Next year’s teacher’s name will not be included in the letter, however, you can expect to receive a letter by mid August containing that information. These letters will be in student bags given out during the Pickup / Drop off days explained above.
Yankee Candle orders, PTO prizes, Read to Ride Summer reading forms, and original student artwork from the PTO Artwork fundraiser will also be given out during the Pick up / Drop off Days.
We are very thankful for your support this year and especially over the past ten weeks. This is certainly not how we anticipated our last trimester to look. As plans for the fall are developed, we will continue to inform you through our website, school FaceBook page, and Messenger notices. We hope you and your family stay healthy and enjoy the summer.
